We received a solicitation call from a Richard Stone of Brooks, Newman & Stone (Lauderhill,FL) on 9/2009 soliciting for business. They focus on collecting outstanding dept on past due accounts. We hired them on 10/4 to collect $6836.98 from one of our customers. They collected the money in 4 days, We received confirmation the money was wired direct to the bank account of BNS. We were promised we would receive a check for $5127.74 in a week. It's been almost 90 days. Richard Newman said it was out of his hands we would need to speak to the owner Mark Baer. Mark promised we would receive payment on 12/15. They are now avoiding all calls and emails. We've had a couple conversations with the receptionist who transfers the call to voice mail, when I say I want to speak to Richard or Mark they are in meetings. My story seems very familiar to reviews I've read on Baker, Kline and Wade. I contacted the Lauderhill Police Dept this morning 12/22 to see if it's possible to press criminal charges. I spoke to Officer Smith. He is going to verify if the address they have listed is legitimate and review with the dept detective and get back to me. Has anyone else delt with this agency?
