To Whom It May Concern,
I was financially shattered as a result of the housing meltdown of 2008, where all my commercial properties were foreclosed upon. The only folks that helped me were the people at CAPTA. Jim Guffey took the time to understand my situation and represent me at county hearings. He was both professional and competent in all our interactions. For instance, they were responsive when I called, or emailed, and showed up for meetings on time.
My specific situation spanned multiple years of ownership, appraisers, hard money lenders and county board members – I felt it was very problematic and complex. None the less, Jim, with the help of CAPTA staff, sorted out my situation and advised me of my options and guided me to act appropriately.
Our final resolution was great. I was able to recoup some of my tax revenue previously paid, and thus begin to rebuilt my financial life.
