I have been in the program since February 2010. They said I would be debt free at the end of the program in 4 yrs. I just received a subpoena from Federal Court as one of the 4 creditors in the program seeks the money owed them with a substantial add'l amount for interest and charges. Capital Debt Relief says they are no lawyers and I am on my own! They told me they will settle for 70% and that I would be responsible for the other 30% of the debt. What happened to: "You'll only have to pay one set amount for the 4 yr program". My phone rings 10 times a day from these creditors. What happened to: "Don't worry the phone calls will stop after about 2 months"? Some of these creditors left me messages saying they would settle for less than 25% of the original debt.. Capital One Bank (sent the subpoena), wants almost $7,000.00. The amount at the start of the program was around $5,000.000. It seems I would have been better off filing for bankruptcy than trying to do the right thing. My credit isn't worth a dam anyway. It's a shame the Better Business Bureau lets them get away with this. If the lawyer who talked me into this program was a car salesman he'd be a millionaire.
