I signed up with Care Credit for specialized, ongoing veterinary care. The 0% interest for varying terms---from 3 months to 18 months, (depending on a veterinarian's program choice), seemed an ideal solution for larger vet bills but I'm finding that the card does me little good because my available balance doesn't change at the same time payments are applied to my account.
Care Credit claims that for "security reasons," any payment amount over $200 or $500, (depending on which rude CC CSR you talk to), and EVEN IF THE PAYMENT WAS RECEIVED VIA ACH FILE, will not be reflected in the available credit amount for 10 days, regardless of the fact that it has cleared a customer's bank account, has actually been posted as a successful payment to the customer's Care Credit account AND is reflected in the Care Credit account balance!
A recent large payment debited from my bank account is STILL not reflected in my Care Credit available balance 4 business days later.
I've never heard of anything like this before, and judging from other complaints I've read, it's part and parcel of other questionable Care Credit policies, none of which are posted on their web site.
I would strongly discourage anyone from applying for a card from this company.
