Has anyone had had an issue with GE CareCredit and their website'S auto-pay option? I turned off my autopay thinking it would turn off the next month's due date (initially wanted to increase payment amount). Unfortunately, it turned off during the same month, and caused my payment to be late, and my being charged a $25.00 late fee. I spoke to the customer services rep, and she explained that the autopay turns off immediately, and it takes affect the next billing due date to turn on autopay. Well the next day I thought I would turn it back on, since it won't take effect until the next billing due date, and my account will be back on track. Well to my dismay, the money was drafted the same day I turned it back on. I called back, and was told by a supervisor that there is a five day grace period between the end of the billing cycle and the beginning of the due date that funds will be drafted. I asked why the same didn't exist for the late fees being posted. Of course she did not answer. The website clearly states that "Auto-Pay will be effective on you next statement due date." This is not the case. IF YOU ARE USING AUTOPAY WITH THE COMPANY, PLEASE KNOW THAT YOUR FUNDS WHETHER YOU HAVE THEM AVAILABLE OR NOT MAY BE DRAFTED IMMEDIATELY.
