I found CTB online in May of 2009. A few days later I was on a plane to visit CTB and make sure they were legit before I gave them my money. I wrote a check for 12,500 while I was there. All seemed good until about 6 months into the process. I was promised 6 months ... But they kept pushing me back. I was always told ... "my bus was next".
Unlike a lot of the people who posted ... I did finally get my bus. It was beautiful ... too bad it broke down within a week. The engine and transmission were shot. CTB worked with me for a few weeks ... but then they cut me off. It was such a joke. I posted a few things on Facebook ... but they cut me off from that pretty quick. Thankfully I found an old VW mechanic who could work miracles. He never charges me too much, because he is always telling me how bad I got ripped of by CTB. Every time he works on the bus ... he finds something else they did. They restored the body ... but the guts are a mess. I had CTB add AC to my 65 splitty ... but that has never worked. That cost me $3k. With all of the engine and transmission work ... I am out an extra $5 - $8k on top of what I initially paid. I had to have a new rebuilt engine, transmission, suspension, clutch, starter and numerous other items installed.
It has been very, very stressful. I am so sorry about all of the people who have nothing. I wish I could have warned you. I really felt that Gary and Fallon were good people. I just don't know what went wrong. I think they got too big too fast ... and they just had no business running a business.
