I rented an RV from El Monte RV in Irvine on Thursday 8/5 and was charged for 4 days. Funny thing is, I was only allowed to pick it up at sometime between 1 and 4 on Thursday and it was supposed to be back by 11am on Sunday..... How does that amount to 4 days? By my math, that's only 3 days and 3 nights? They recommended that if I needed it earlier on Thursday (which I did) to pay the half day charge and it would be there between 9 and noon, which I did.
On top of that, when I did the initial walk through with Nancy, she notated that there was some superficial damage on the awning. To my complete surprise, when I returned it on Sunday, they realized that there was additional damage IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT as was notated on the initial walk through and stated that they will be charging ME for it. To the tune of $1,700.00. $1,700.00 for a $50.00 metal cap that holds the awning to the arms? Seriously.
Even Nancy said that she may have missed it..... ya think?
The manager's name is Mason and he told me that I would be charged and that I couldn't have ANY of the final check out paperwork. What company doesn't give you a final reciept for what your'e being charged? When I threatened to take him to court if my card is charged, he said if I did, he would sue me for his time missed from work. Great company to do business with, NOT! Never, ever will I rent an RV from EL Monte RV, and on top of that, I will make sure that everyone I know, including those on various social networking sites I belong to that they should NEVER rent from El Monte RV.
I'll keep you posted on any resolutions.
