Took 2000 Ford Ranger in for oil change only. Girl advised me they'd do complimentary inspection. I told her I kept up on servicing and 90k coming up. She asked me if plugs had been replaced and I told her I couldn't remember; she said I could check. (It was van I had plugs replaced.) While in waiting room she approached me with list of almost $900 work of which two things needed attention and it would take about 2 hours. I was in shock; she said she would see if I couldn't get a discount. She came back with $780 so being an idiot I said ok. I thought she said she would return with an approval but she didn't. Next time I saw her was two hours later when she told me it was about done. While paying she came and told me at 90k it would only need oil change as they flushed and replaced all fluids and front brake pads--I bet they'd find something! And the discount was for Senior which I probably would've gotten anyway. It was $480.60 for two hrs labor ($240.30 an hr ??) and the rest for pricey parts. It was supposed to be washed when they brought it out but it wasn't so I had to wait another half hour. Down the road I stopped at sign and didn't feel like I had brakes. Leaving mall parking lot I thought I had flat because front shaking so bad for about a block. At home I had to add brake and steering fluid. Seemed okay until two weeks later I picked it up from airport lot and it did the front dancing again for about a block. When I took it in it was fine; now I'm leery of taking it on a trip. They got me once but I will not go there again. In WA I bought and had our vehicles serviced at a dealer I trusted. I do not trust this dealer.
