I needed a car moved from CT to VA.
I considered flying up and driving the car down. I considered renting a car one way and then driving my car down. Last weekend was the weekend I would have traveled, and CT received almost 2 feet of snow, with lots of ice, just then! So I decided maybe it was best to let someone else do the driving. But whom?
I considered many quotes but choose Professional Vehicle Shippers because their policy is to give you the phone number for the person who is actually transporting the vehicle. I was a bit turned off by what might have been a perfectly reasonable quote when I researched it further only to find out that there could be as much as a 24-hour delay in getting information to you regarding the whereabouts of your vehicle. There are lots of horror stories out there about no shows by the shipper, no response from anybody, damaged vehicles, vehicles put in storage, vehicles arriving with several more miles on them (evidence of car's being driven around), lots of loading and unloading (and thus potential for accidents or problems), etc.
I worked with Jessica at Professional Vehicle Shippers, and she was wonderful. I never felt as though I had been cast aside once I made the initial commitment. I know she must have hundreds of cars to coordinate, but I always felt as though mine were the only one she had to transport. She kept me informed, and she returned my calls and emails promptly. I never fretted about my car.
The driver picked up my car yesterday in CT around 4:30 p.m. and I received it here in VA around 3:30 p.m. today. Considering the weather and the fact that this is the holiday season, I am amazed to have gotten my car so quickly. The company who moved my car was New England Motor Cars, and the driver was named Mark. Indeed, he himself answered the phone when I called. He kept me informed about his progress as he drove down. He was very friendly and very helpful.
I have never shipped a car before, and I was anxious about the whole process. What could have been a prolonged ordeal instead was a very pleasant experience. I would definitely call on Professional Vehicle Shippers again. I recommend them. They are very professional, indeed.
