Review 11/5/2009
I recently purchased a Sandisk 4gb pro duo memory card for my Sony cybershot (since the packaging stated that it was compatible with Sony products and was a really good price.) from my local Walmart on Halloween night because me and my wife desired a higher memory card to our 2gb Sony pro duo card. So we get home open the package and insert the card which seemed to fit funny from the start but clipped in fine none the less. I turn on my camera and it states on the lcd screen please reinsert disc I had never had one problem from my Sony camera to that point but I opened the bottom of the camera and tried to remove the disk but it would not budge one bit and I could not remove it. I took it to a local retailer that would deal with cameras regularly and had them to remove it which they did successfully and I reinserted my Sony disk and still across the screen it stated reinsert card, removed the card again and still the same thing it would no longer read my card making my camera useless.

I return to the walmart that I had originally purchased it from to return the part and ask them if I needed to contact Sandisk first or Walmart Corp. They told me to contact Sandisk first and if I could not get a sufficient resolution from them to call Walmart Corp. to see if they could help with the situation(which I have not done yet). I called Sandisk the very next day and they were very quick at trying to brush me off as it being my problem not there almost immediately from the get go but I was persistent with them about helping with my problem and was told I would be receiving a call in about thirty minutes, I waited about 3 1/2 to 4 hours for the return phone call that never came so I call back and told them the situation again with the claim number they gave me and of course they give me a half-hearted apology and told me again that they would give me a return call in about 15 minutes which they did this time around (my true belief on this is that they had no intention of ever calling me back because I checked my email shortly after I called them the second time and they had emailed me saying that because I know longer had the card and had returned it they could not examine the card to see if there was fault in it and that they had no priory history of problems with it and they were not going to do anything to help me). I talked to them the second time and asked explained that I returned it again to Walmart and that it was Walmart that had told me to contact them after returning the disk and that I had an experienced retailer remove the card and tell me that it was indeed the card that caused the problem with the camera. In the end they tell me that sorry you don't have the card its not our problem even after they contacted walmart themselves and since I work in the retail industry also I know that this is highly unacceptable to leave a customer stranded in this type of situation with out a reasonable resolution that would satisfy them in at least some aspect, I did not ask for a replacement camera just at the very least a repair if possible.

Unless you know the policy of some companies before hand on how they handle discrepancy claims you could be up a creek with out a paddle this is what I found out about sandisk they asked me for information and I provided it for them all the way down to the number of the Walmart that I purchased their product from but in the end since they said that Walmart had already sent the card to there claims department that there was nothing they can do.(which I will find out the truth with that as soon as I speak to walmart Corp.)which shows me that they will not go out of their way to help a customer since they can contact the Walmart claims office for the product. They knew at that point that I could not produce the disk and this is how they managed to get around helping me with my problem and thus at this point brushing me off.
I would not recommend any consumer to purchase sandisk products due to the risk involved, the purchase of this memory card alone though it sold for around $20 will now cost over $300 which is ludicrous. If you must spend a little more and get a quality product cause like I said there is to much risk with sandisk and they do not stand behind there product and I know for a fact that customer satisfaction is not of high importance to them even upon me telling them I would have to report my experience with them to the Better Business Bureau they basically told me "Do what ever you think you have to do". Never do business with a company that does not care about satisfying their customers and Sandisk by my experience is one of the worst companies I have interacted with as far as customer satisfaction
