Dealing with Thrifty Computer is a disaster. I have never experienced the feeling that I am being scammed before, but I sure feel that way now. I wish I had never decided to order from Thrifty Computer.
I am supposed to send back the phone that does not work; however, the address I was given does not match any addresses I can find for Thrifty Computer. In addition, I was not told whether the address is a Street, Terrace, or Lane. Therefore, I did not want to send the phone off until I could receive the correct address in full via email. I am currently waiting to see if the company will send me the "real" address in writing.
Working with Thrifty Computer (aside from the polite manners of Luis) has been a nightmare. First, I had to fight tooth and nail to get a refund on a purchase that was canceled before the first phone was even shipped! By then, I had already reordered, paid extra $ for quick 2-3 day delivery, and did not receive a quick delivery. In fact, the phone took almost a month to get to me! I called and emailed several time during this period. There were a series of problems, including the website being down. From looking at customer reviews, I think they do this periodically for some reason.
Then, the phone arrives--"New in a Box" as advertised, but void of any documentation or instruction manual. The refund policy states that I have to have all of that to get a refund. It is bad business to NOT send the necessary documentation out with the telephone. The phone worked for one week. Verizon examined the phone and could find NO reason for it to not work. There is no damage to the phone. The moisture indicator is not changed. There should be nothing wrong with it, but it won't work. I will take a lot of photos of the phone before I send it back to them. Luis tells me that I may return the telephone for a replacement; however, that will not suit my needs.
I have read all kinds of customer reviews now about how Thrifty Computer conducts its business. I wish I had never ordered. It is not a safe bet that any phone I receive from Thrifty Computer will operate. I am requesting a full refund from Thrifty Computer. I will send the telephone via insured UPS shipping, as soon as they confirm their address in a reply email for me.
Note, the Better Business Bureau has the same address that the company lists on its website. This is not the address where I was told to send the telephone. If I find out anything positive about the company, other than polite manners by an employee, I'll update my review.
