Twilight Tours took me to Easter Island for the total solar eclipse there in July 2010. In the months prior to the actual tour, things seemed a bit disorganized, and i was a little worried, but as it turned out: EVERYTHING WENT PERFECTLY! Flights, accommodations, tours, and many meals were all arranged by Twilight Tours. All went perfectly. It really was quite amazing. Friendly locals met me at the airport in Santiago Chile, and directed me to the very-nearby hotel, where everything was perfect. Later that day other local reps got us onto the flight to Easter Island. We were met by busses & moved efficiently to a nice resort hotel. Then 3 days of touring the archeological features of the island. The tours were very well done, the local guide very nice and extremely knowledgeable. For eclipse itself, our group had exclusive use of hotel grounds, and there was elegantly-presented food & drink. Afterward, a traditionally-prepared feast & drinks. Next day, returned to Santiago, there was a good city tour, before the flight back to LAX. Recognize that this was a major event on a tiny remote island with thousands of people taxing facilities there to the max, yet planning & preparations by Joel Harris of Twilight Tours had somehow managed to make it relaxed, effortless.
