AFTER READING ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS, I FIND MYSELF HAVING TO MAYBE CONSULT WITH A LAWYER IF MY PROBLEM ISN'T RESOLVED WITH THE HELP OF THE BBB. IT SEEMS LIKE I WILL BE FIGHTING FOR A WHILE. I DON'T RECOMMEND SMILECARE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY BAD. I HAVE WRITTEN, CALLED BOTH THE OFFICE AND HEADQUARTERS AND I HAVEN'T HAD A RESPONSE. ONLY THE RUN AROUND. I HAVE BEEN PAYING MONTHLY FOR A SERVICE I AM NEVER GOING TO GET BECAUSE I SIGNED A CONTRACT. MY PROBLEM IS THAT I TOOK MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TO GET DENTAL WORK DONE. THE ORTHODONTIST OFFICE MANAGER CONVINCED ME TO GET BRACES FOR MY DAUGHTER DUE TO A SMALL OVERBITE. SHE HAS VERY STRAIGHT TEETH BUT I FOUND MYSELF IN A FINANCIAL SITUATION WHERE I CAN AFFORD TO GET HER BRACES AND MAKE HER TEETH LOOK EVEN BETTER (SORT OF MOVIE STAR QUALITY TEETH) SO I SIGNED A CONTRACT TO PAY FOR WHATEVER MY INSURANCE COMPANY DOESN'T COVER AND I ALSO SIGNED A CONTRACT TO GET A MONTHLY PAYMENT TO FINANCE MY DAUGHTER'S GENERAL DENTISTRY TOO. WELL ORTHO KNEW THAT MY DAUGHTER NEEDED A ROOT CANAL AND A CROWN ON HER BOTTOM TEETH SO IMMEDIATELY THEY PUT THE BRACKETS ON HER EVEN BEFORE HER GENERAL DENTISTRY WAS EVEN STARTED. MY DAUGHTER WENT BACK AND GOT SOME TEETH WORKED ON BUT ORTHO COULDN'T PROCEED WITH ANYTHING FURTHER UNTIL HER GENERAL WAS COMPLETE. THE GENERAL DENTISTS REFUSED TO WORK WITH MY DAUGHTER BECAUSE SHE WASN'T COOPERATIVE. THEY REFUSED TO SEDATE HER AND I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO ASK ORTHO TO REMOVE THE BRACKETS TO PREVENT TOOTH ENAMEL DAMAGE. I AM PAYING FOR A SERVICE THAT I AM NEVER GOING TO RECEIVE. I'VE TOLD THEM THAT I WILL PAY BUT THAT IF THEY CAN GIVE ME A CREDIT AND USE THAT CREDIT TOWARDS MY SON'S BRACES. MY SON IS REALLY GOING TO NEED THE BRACES. THEY HAVEN'T RESPONDED OR ACKNOWLEDGED OR CONSIDERED ANYTHING SO THAT WE CAN COME TO A MUTUAL AGREEMENT THAT WILL BENEFIT BOTH PARTIES. I THINK THAT IT'S BAD PRACTICE TO HAVE STARTED THE ORTHO WITHOUT WAITING FOR THE GENERAL TO BE COMPLETE. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY. PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T GO TO SMILECARE. OH AND THEY PUT PORCELINE CROWNS ON MY 4 YEAR OLDS UPPER AND BOTTOM TEETH AND THE WHITE PORCELINE HAS FALLEN OFF OF THREE OF HER TEETH AND SHE HASN'T HAD THEM FOR EVEN 6 MONTHS... OH AND ONLY ONE GENTLEMAN WAS KIND ENOUGH TO REALLY BE CONCERNED WITH MY SITUATION AND CALLED ANOTHER DENTIST TO SEE IF THEY CAN WORK WITH MY DAUGHTER (A DENTIST THAT DOESN'T WORK FOR SMILECARE) BUT HE IS NO LONGER THERE. IT SEEMS TO BE THAT MAYBE HE WASN'T AN ASSET TO THE COMPANY BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY SHOWED AN INICIATIVE TO TRY TO HELP THE CUSTOMER
