This is in response to my experience with SMILECARE-RIVERSIDE. Please read my review and trust me when I say DO NOT SIGN UP with them as they are unprofessional, rude, charges you or your insurance company before explaining to you what they're for. My last visit to SMILECARE-RIVERSIDE on December 2010 told me that I owed them approx. $400. I argued because I've been receiving statements that showed $0.00 balance. They're explanation is from a denied claim going back to 2008! Their excuse is sometimes Metlife (my insurance company) is late with their audit. I was curious and I talked to Metlife and obtained copies of my Explanation of Benefits (EOB) Statement and found there were other charges that were filed which to me are not correct. For example, SMILECARE-RIVERSIDE charged me Special Consultation for tooth extraction. I argued that the tooth extraction was ordered by my Ortho Dentist for my braces. I never talked to any Specialist about it. Another example is this panoramic xray. My insurance denied coverage because I got 2 xrays done within 1 year. However, SMILECARE-RIVERSIDE FAILED to tell Metlife that the panoramic xray is required for tooth extraction!!! On December 29, 2010, I faxed all my EOB statements to SMILECARE-RIVERSIDE Attn: Annabelle. I never heard or got a response so I called on Monday, January 17, 2011. I spoke with Annabelle and she said she NEVER GOT MY FAX??? I got so angry I told her this is bull****!!! I have fax confirmation it went through. So, I filed a grievance report to SMILECARE Headquarter office demanding for a full refund of my orthodontic service and still waiting for a response. Please, I'm trying to get my money back and hopefully move on from here. All I get from the staff of SMILECARE-RIVERSIDE is excuses and round arounds.
