Review 3/12/2011

I have been a patient at SmileCare for years, although, after all the problems I've incurred at their hands I don't know why. My recent experience is the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. I received a re-treatement root canal in November 2010 on a tooth on which they had already performed a root canal. They gave me an quote at my initial consultation. When I returned for treatment, they told me it was more than the estimate. I showed them my quote; they promptly, in writing, reduced the amount with a promise that it would not be more (Annabelle). In January 2011, I received a letter informing me that my insurance did not cover the amount they thought and I now owed them $73. Two weeks later a received another letter requesting an additional $73. Last week a received a letter requesting $25. Today, I received a letter requesting $926.90. To add insult to injury, my new dentist tells me the re-treatement was performed improperly and that she is going to have to perform another root canal. I have had several other previous root canals performed by SmileCare which subsequently "failed" requiring retreatement. I have frequently received bills for treatment dates I was never there. I'm sure my insurance had paid some of those bogus claims. Finally, on several occasions, I have arrived to be told that I have no appointment; they would not take w/out my appointment card which I did not bring with me. When I would get home, my appointment card read that very date and time. Worst dental provider ever!!!!!!
