Skip says that the chances are pretty good. Taking fees before they are earned is the fast-track to Disbarment in California. There is even legislation prohibiting the advance fees by attorneys for Loan Modification. That is mostly because a feeding frenzy usually results in collateral damage to the public. Here is the link from the CA State Bar website if you need some ammunition for your refund. http://ethics.calbar.ca.gov/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=cB9TVIrLdWs%3D&tabid=455 Remind the attorney that Disbarment is forever. He will probably STILL have to refund your money after the CA Supreme Court spanks his fanny for failing to do right in a Do Right zone, but it will take a bit longer.

I assumed that this entity was run by an attorney, which may or may not be true. Any suggested disciplinary action from the State Bar applies only to Attorneys, but you wil see that the statute language prohibits advance fees on Loan Modification by "all persons." For additional clarification or clouding, there is a similarly-named Law Firm "The Consumer Advocate Law Group, P.C." nearby on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles. I do not represent, imply or suggest that they are connected, but the opportunity for confusion does exist.

I personally worked with CAG and i am living proof they do a great job! I thank God he put Consumer Advocates Group into my life or we would be homeless. Its funny all you people have opinions on how this company works but not one of you have ever used this firm. If anything all you people are doing is hurtig good people that need help and this company is helping people. By writing all this nasty stuff you are discouraging good people from getting help. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. God bless you D

Are you on the payroll for Consumer Advocates? You should be ashamed of yourself for bringing God's name into this. If they did help you consider yourself one of a very few. Their track record is horrible. Just check out the BBB reports or call the Attorney Generals office. People do not make this stuff up. Why do you think there are so many complaints?
